We Coordinate Cooling Performance for Malaysia’s Climate

Air conditioning performance depends heavily on early planning and coordination. At Le Lume, air conditioning layouts are coordinated early with ceiling, carpentry, lighting, and electrical works, allowing the system to perform properly without compromising the space around it.

Why Most Aircon Installations Disappoint?

  • Unit capacity guessed instead of properly calculated.
  • Pipe routes planned after ceiling design completion.
  • Fan coil dimensions not coordinated with ceiling works.
  • Exposed trunking caused by poor early planning.
  • Compressors installed without proper ventilation clearance.

How We Work for HVAC & Climate Control Solutions in Malaysia

Step
01
Room-by-Room Load Calculation
Unit capacity is calculated using room size, ceiling height, sun exposure, insulation, and occupancy to prevent inefficient cooling performance.
Step
02
System Design and Unit Selection
We specify HVAC systems based on building type, zoning, ceiling construction, and maintenance access before architectural and ceiling works begin.
Step
03
Pipe Routing and Trade Coordination
Pipe routes, drainage gradients, and electrical points are coordinated before ceiling and carpentry works to maintain cooling efficiency and clean concealment.
Step
04
Installation by Our Own Team
The same team specifies and installs the system, with correct pipe insulation, copper specification, and full vacuum testing completed before refrigerant charging.
Step
05
Commissioning and Quality Check Before Handover
Every system is tested before handover, including cooling performance, drainage flow, airflow direction, thermostat calibration, and refrigerant pressure under actual operating conditions.

HVAC Systems Planned for Long-Term Performance

We design HVAC systems for Malaysian residential and commercial spaces, where poor specification often leads to higher electricity bills, premature component wear, and moisture damage around ceilings, walls, and built-ins.
The right HVAC system depends on each zone’s heat load, ceiling construction, pipe concealment space, zoning requirements, and how the system will be maintained after handover. We assess these conditions before any unit or layout is specified.

HVAC Designed Alongside Architecture and Interiors.

In many Malaysian renovations, HVAC is coordinated too late, after ceilings and carpentry are already built. At Le Lume, fan coil dimensions, drainage routes, and pipe concealment are planned alongside ceiling, electrical, and interior works from the beginning, which allows the climate system to integrate cleanly into the space.

Construction Services by Le Lume Studio

Le Lume is a full design and build studio. If your project needs more than aircon installation, or if the HVAC system is part of a larger renovation or commercial fit-out, we handle the full scope under one roof.

Questions We Get Asked About Aircon and Climate Control.

How do I know what aircon size or horsepower I need for my room in Malaysia?

A rough estimate is 25 BTU per square foot, where 1 HP equals approximately 2,500 BTU. But in Malaysia, ceiling height, sun exposure, insulation, airflow leakage, and occupancy all affect the actual heat load. Oversized units often short-cycle, leaving rooms cold but still humid.

Indoor unit water leaks are usually caused by blocked drainage lines, poor drain pipe gradient, frozen evaporator coils, or insufficient pipe insulation, causing condensation around refrigerant pipes. In Malaysia’s humid climate, regular drain cleaning and servicing are important to prevent algae build-up and overflow.

Non-inverter aircons run at fixed speed and repeatedly switch on and off, using more electricity over time. Inverter systems adjust compressor speed continuously, making them quieter, more energy-efficient, and better suited for Malaysia’s long daily operating hours.

VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems connect multiple indoor units to shared outdoor compressors, allowing independent temperature control across different zones. They are commonly used in commercial spaces, hotels, and larger residential projects where energy efficiency, zoning flexibility, and concealed installation are important.

For renovations with false ceilings, air conditioning is typically installed in two stages: concealed piping and drainage before ceiling closure, followed by unit installation and commissioning after finishes are completed. This approach allows cleaner concealment, better coordination, and fewer long-term performance or aesthetic issues.

A room that feels cold but still humid is usually caused by an oversized aircon unit. The system cools the room too quickly and shuts off before removing enough moisture from the air, leaving the space cold but damp.

Aircon installation costs in Malaysia depend on system type, unit quantity, pipe routing, ceiling concealment, and compressor placement conditions. Accurate quotations are usually confirmed after a site visit and HVAC system assessment.
